• About the Industry

  Medicef Pharma, located in Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), is a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit engaged in the production and packaging of medicinal formulations. The company follows GMP standards and maintains quality control systems to ensure safe and effective pharmaceutical products.

• Description of the Activity

  On 13th February 2026, students of Pharmacy 6th Semester visited Medicef Pharma for an educational industrial tour. The visit commenced with a briefing session by industry professionals regarding company operations, safety protocols, and GMP compliance.
  Students explored the following departments:

  • Production Department – Understanding manufacturing processes, machinery, and workflow systems.
  • Quality Control (QC) Department – Learning about testing procedures, analytical instruments, and quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance (QA) Department – Observing documentation practices, validation processes, and regulatory compliance systems.
  • Packaging & Storage Units – Gaining insight into labelling, batch coding, warehousing, and inventory management systems.

  The industrial exposure helped students understand real-time pharmaceutical operations and reinforced classroom concepts related to pharmaceutics, quality control, and regulatory practices.

Shiva Institute of Pharmacy organized an insightful industrial visit for D. Pharmacy students at Dharmayu Wellness, Derabassi, Punjab on 26 May 2025

The visit provided students with practical exposure to Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing and real-time industrial processes.

They observed various departments including production, quality control, and packaging. Industry experts shared insights on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory standards followed in the herbal sector. This hands-on experience helped students connect classroom knowledge with real industry applications.

The visit aimed to enhance students' understanding of pharmaceutical operations in a professional setup. Faculty members accompanied the students to guide and support throughout the visit. Such industry interactions are essential for building confidence and skills among budding pharmacists.
